Xavier Institute of Management, XIM University hosted its Foundation Day at 5.30 P.M. on the 11th of December 2021, at the Old Campus, Xavier Square, Bhubaneswar.

Students from the MBA-Business Management and Executive MBA programs attended this occasion. Foundation Day is an opportunity to celebrate the glorious legacy of the institute as it thrives and carries onto yet another successful year. Shri. Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), was the Chief Guest and speaker. With over 33 years of experience with CII, he has served as the Director-General since 2008 and is responsible for the overall operations of CII. As DG of CII, he is responsible for leading and contributing to several policy level dialogues and discussions to enhance the competitiveness and development of India.

Amongst the distinguished personalities present were, Shri. Rajive Kaul, Chairman Emeritus, Board of Governors, Fr. Antony R Uvari, S.J., Vice Chancellor, XIM University and Fr. S. Antony Raj, S.J., Registrar, XIM University. On the occasion, Shri. Chandrajit Banerjee was conferred with the Honorary Doctoral Degree in Business Management by the University. He was felicitated by Shri. Rajive Kaul and Fr. Antony R. Uvari, S.J., Welcoming the guests, faculty members, and students, Shri. Rajive Kaul, Chairman Emeritus, Board of Governors, in his earnest and pleasant welcome congratulated the Chief Guest, Shri. Chandrajit Banerjee and addressed him as a true Xaverian, a role model for the young generation, and called him a leader with a clear vision, not just for CII but for the country as a whole. As the Foundation Day Speaker and esteemed Chief Guest of the evening, Shri Chandrajit Banerjee, addressed the gathering and shared shared his insights on the Indian economy, calling it the largest developing country globally, and shared his dream for India 25 years down the line. Continuing on the same, he spoke about how partnership between academia, government and the private sector should be encouraged; quantitative targets should be set to call ourselves a technologically evolved nation and addressed the youth of India one that is full of idealism, passion, creativity and urged them to be more adventurous. In his speech, he also stated how India’s vaccination drive is a phenomenal example of what thinking big can come to achieve. He encouraged the youth to become sensitive leaders who build an organizational culture that fosters belongingness and ultimately adds to the dream of ‘India in 100’. Fr. S. Antony Raj,S.J. conducted the ceremony of awarding the Long Service Medals to recognize the employees for their commitment and dedication towards the institution.

Finally, the event came to a successful end by the vote of thanks by Fr. Antony R. Uvari, S.J., Vice Chancellor, XIM University, wherein he thanked and expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest and congratulated one and all in the University for their contribution and efforts. He ended the occasion with the quote “We are thankful to all for being strong stakeholders in the foundation of XIM University”.
