IIM Calcutta has successfully closed the placements for the MBA class of 2015 within 2.5 days. Known as one of the finest B-schools in the country, IIM Calcutta once again proved its mettle when it came to stellar placements.

Roles & Recruiters
BFSI
100+ offers were made by the BFSI Sector. 22 front-end Investment Banking/PE/VC roles. Exclusive roles were offered by Bank of America Merrill Lynch for Investment Banking, Markets (Hong Kong) & Risk (HK & Mumbai) divisions. Other exclusive offers were made by Goldman Sachs Markets (London & Mumbai), Credit Suisse IBD, BNP Paribas IBD, etc. Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Citibank, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Avendus Capital, ICICI Securities, Kotak IBD, Edelweiss, Allegro Advisors were among the major recruiters.
Consulting
The Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Co., McKinsey, AT Kearney and Accenture Management Consulting were amongst the major recruiters. Other recruiters included Alvarez and Marsal, Opera Solutions (exclusive recruiter), BMGI, Synergy Consultants, ZS Associates and Deloitte among others. Nearly 20% of the batch was placed in this sector.
Sales and Marketing
19% of the batch was placed in Sales and Marketing roles. Proctor & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, Kelloggs, ITC, Philips, Coca Cola, PepsiCo, Mondelez, Dabur and Middle-East based retail firm Alshaya were among the top recruiters.
Leadership and General Management
Leadership and General Management roles were offered by Tata Administrative Services (TAS), Aditya Birla Group (ABG), CK Birla Group, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Essar, Lodha Group, Wipro (Global 100 Program) and Airtel.
e-Commerce
47 offers were made by the sector, with Web-based startups like Snapdeal, Flipkart, Olacabs, GroupOn, Quikr, UrbanLadder, CarTrade etc. making maximum offers. Online medical practice management firm Practo, Edgeverve (an Infosys company), Germany based incubator firm Rocket Internet (APAC Internet Group) and Nokia Networks Finland (hiring exclusively from IIM Calcutta) participated for the first time and rolled out international offers.
