The state-of-the-art Auditorium in XIM University Bhubaneswar was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha Shri. Naveen Patnaik on 26th February 2023 at Nijigada, Kurki, Harirajpur Campus.

The occasion was also graced by Shri. Rohit Pujari, Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha; Shri. Rudra Pratap Maharathy, Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly from Pipli constituency; Shri. R. Balakrishnan, IAS, Chief Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha; Most Reverend John Barwa, SVD, Archbishop of Cuttack – Bhubaneswar, Archdiocese, and esteemed members of the Board of the University.

Fr. Antony R. Uvari, Vice Chancellor, XIM University in his welcome address stated that this beautiful 3000 seating capacity auditorium along with a 450-capacity lecture hall and 4 numbers of 150 capacity video conferencing halls was yet another milestone in the life of XIM University. The iconic structure comprises of all modern facilities and technology. The colossal auditorium is one of its kind in the state and is acknowledged as both an architectural and engineering marvel. This fully air-conditioned auditorium has one of the best acoustics to cater to the needs. Designed as an octagonal structure the auditorium connects different level with ramps and staircases with multiple entry and exits for ease of movement of 3000 people integrating public convenience facilities and safety as well.

The faculty, staff and students at the University participated in the inaugural ceremony with great zeal & enthusiasm. It was indeed a moment of pride for the University, its fraternity, and the state as Odisha is an emerging knowledge hub for the young generation of the country having world class infrastructure and facilities for learning and all-round development. Shri Rohit Pujari through his speech acknowledged the remarkable journey of Higher Education in Odisha and the role of the Xavier fraternity towards the same by mentioning,“We under the dynamic leadership of our Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik ji are working towards turning Bhubaneswar into the Education hub of India through many great steps like Skill in Odisha and 5T Transformational Program while the biggest Epitome of Higher Education in Odisha is Xavier’s journey from XIMB in Chandrasekharpur to the new campus of XIM University to the inauguration of the Colossal Auditorium today”

Shri R Balakrishnan, IAS, Chief Advisor to Honourable CM also addressed the gathering by applauding XIM University and the team behind the conceptualization of the State-of-the-Art Auditorium. Shri. Rudra Pratap Maharathy in his speech mentioned about the importance that the Honorable Chief Minister accords to education in the state and how under his able leadership the state has set a benchmark for other states to follow. He also spoke about his seven years of association with XIM University wherein he horned his skills of discipline, good management practices and praised the quality of education being imparted to students.The Most Reverend Archbishop, John Barwa, SVD in his speech thanked both the Jesuit society and the Odisha government for their support in promoting higher education by stating,“Our State is becoming no. 1 in India in terms of higher education through the dedication and commitment of our Jesuit Brethren and liberal assistance of our honorable Chief Minister Shree Naveen Patnaik” 

The inaugural ceremony ended with the vote by thanks by Fr. S. Antony Raj, Registrar, XIM University wherein he thanked all starting from the one who conceptualized, designed the auditorium and all the vendors and their workers who raced against time to complete this magnificent structure so efficiently.
