SPICMACAY (Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) XIMB-XUB Chapter has successfully organized a classical music extravaganza in Xavier University on February 29, 2016. It had the privilege to host Rotary International’s Global Ambassador for Peace & Goodwill and India’s Global Music Ambassador and Santoor Maestro, Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya Ji.
The evening started with Hindustani Classical vocal piece presented by Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya Ji accompanied by Jyotirmoy Roychowdhary delivering his best with the Tabla. The audience was privileged to have not only shared the space with a great Maestro, but also had an opportunity to interact with him. As promised, the evening was filled with the scintillating performances which emphasized the sanctity and purity of Indian Classical music. Father Bipin Kujur, In-Charge of Student Affairs and Residences of the XUB Campus, felicitated the maestros with a Thank you note.

Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya Ji is one of the most celebrated torch bearers of Indian classical music, and has traversed the globe many times over performing in various awe inspiring venues around the world like Royal Albert Hall, Palace-de-beaux (Brussels), Theater- De-La-Viile (France), Apollo Theatre (Spain), Jubilee Auditorium (Canada), Kremlin (Russia). His mesmerized list of admirers includes Prince Charles, George Harrison, Paolo Solaris and other respected figures.
SPICMACAY is a renowned organization which promotes Indian classical music, Indian classical dance, and other aspects of Indian culture. The XIMB-XUB chapter aims to bring to the notice of this elite community the richness of the Indian Music and Culture and thus evoke the subliminal aspect of the mind which would greatly influence the corporate world.
