MMS (MBA) is the flagship degree of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. It is two year full time degree with batch of 120 students. We introduce ourselves as the first two year full time, one of its kind in India, Masters of Science (MSc) in Finance. Thanks to honourable Ex- Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh who introduced this course in 2011 at Mumbai. A profound course and its content are in line with London School of Economics Masters in Finance course, University of Florida and some other foreign institutes. The student intake is limited to 30 students. It adds an Indian core to finance and intends to produce pool of trained and globally competitive industry ready finance professionals.
Course overview:
MSc Finance provides more comprehensive and intensive exposure to finance, but limited exposure to general management topics. MSc Finance trained students in statistics and mathematics with the application of finance. In broader way, it’s more technical course compared with MBA Finance, covers various aspects of theory and practice of financial engineering. It prepares students to excel in tools of computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, and economic theory. It includes workshops on latest statistical tools including R, SAS so that students are abreast with the most sophisticated methodologies used in financial and analytics industry. A student developed sound knowledge of econometrics and financial modeling with hands-on experience in SPSS, E-views and Excel. So overall, students learn 10-15 specialized finance related subjects in the two year period.
