Swati DasParticipantAs Shalini is a recent MBA graduate, she must follow business ethics and not opt for the alternative of misleading the seller.Since Abhishek intends to remove the hardware, misleading the seller to invest money in repairing the hardware and thus decreasing the downpayment and asking price would not be ethically correct. It shows that the brokers just want to close the deal and get the job done.A business broker understands the sales negotiation process, as well as tactics for marketing the business.Shalini surely has better ways to close the deal.During the early stages, when the seller is still considering making an offer she can negotiate with him for the downpayment and asking price.Since Abhishek has contacted Shalini’s company to arrange for the purchase of an outlet, they owe loyalty towards Abhishek in getting the best deal for him in an affordable price of around 60 lacs.As Prabhat mentioned, the seller can be convinced by incorporating the good-cause factor and even then if the seller does not agree with decreasing the downpayment, then the best negotiating weapon is to have options available.

Swati DasParticipantAlso I would like to add ,nowadays ,taking as example of android apps, customers have options like – ëmail”,”rate”,”flag as inappropriate”,
“visit website”,”write a review” etc. So, the app developers would not take a chance on developing an app and not addressing the grievances of the customers who actually use it,because then it would lead to terrible losses for them instead of gains.January 27, 2016 at 7:43 pm #8803
Swati DasParticipantI do not agree with Kaushik on the part that the only probability of the app developers not being committed would arise because of the free platform provided to them.I believe that app developers do not entirely create an app by just considering the profit it will generate or the cost of its development. The first priority and top consideration in developing a mobile app is that it should be approved by the users and the market place. If the app serves the purpose it is intended to and leads to user satisfaction, profits are guaranteed. The market is virtually flooded with mobile apps and there is stiff competition between the apps that have the same concept like photo editors, messengers, GK or current affair apps etc.and hence usable and engaging apps which undergo modifications and get continuously improved by taking feedback from customers get sustained in the long run. A negative review or low rating to the app can cause customer churn. An app needs to increase customer satisfaction to reduce customer churn. For example-people prefer Whats App over other messengers like Hike or WeChat, only because Whats App has time and again updated the app for better performance and user experience so as to retain its current customer base and simultaneously acquire more users. Thus,in my view they hold equal obligations towards the customers.

Swati DasParticipantIn this case our motive is to redesign and develop a new brand identity for the Indian Field Hockey and deliver a new face of hockey to the Indian audiences. We have a 10 year timeline to rebuild the popularity of hockey and produce a world-beating team.
The strategy can be divided into 2 phases:
SHORT TERM
- Re-branding of the sport and increasing the fan base and awareness through marketing as the sport has suffered from corruption, as well as lack of exposure and promotion.Promotion of hockey from the school level should be done.International stars from around the globe from the best national teams could be hired as brand ambassadors. Example: When the Hockey India Federation started the Hockey India League in 2013 there was a lot of fanfare.
- Recruitment of players- build a team that had the right mix of the experience that comes from age and the raw energy of youth. Also transparency to be maintained in the recruitment process as generally the team composition is controlled by local politicians who lobby hard to ensure that ‘their’ players make it into the national squad.
LONG TERM
- Infrastructure development: Govt. funding and investment from big corporations can be used to build proper fields, buy world class equipment like hockey sticks, nets, goals etc.
- Professional training to players: A renowned coach from outside India can be hired to train the players for world class techniques, nutrition and sports science.
- Retention of players: Pay the players appropriately,,give them proper incentives and more opportunities to play.
- Marketing:Social media can be used as a platform.Create pages and blogs on Facebook, hashtags on twitter and connect with hockey fanatics.Provide them exclusive detail before a league or match starts, conduct quizzes and competitions online and send them official merchandise and match tickets.
