Ok. In case of Angel investors, how to get them? In short, lets say start-up have bagged a project of 1 Crore or on the verge of bagging it. But, now, due to shortage of funds, the company can not move forward with the project and is urgently in need of funds from investors. How to go about it?

Well, I beg to differ on this. The ad of Axe is not at all unethical. Deodorant is also used for attracting the opposite sexes and in marketing you just go a notch higher, but, there is nothing wrong with that.

But, yes, elaborating on what Raahool said, if you consider few ads like Dove and complan, they are extremely unethical. These companies claim that they have tested it on poeple.

Complan goes a notch higher. They claim that they have tested on two groups of 400 students each, one with complan and another without. NOW, THIS IS THE BIGGEST LIE. Similar is the case with Dove.

Don’t you think these forms of marketing should immediately be banned by the GOI?

      B-)

Well, every product out there has some positives & negatives attached to it in some way or the other. The job of the marketer is to find the positives and portray them to the consumers. It is the duty of the consumer to determine the authenticity of that and decide on the quality of the product before consuming it. Nobody is forcing us to buy anything. Thus, the question of ethical marketing does not arises in this scenario. Yes, while marketing, if someone gives false information, that may be termed as unethical, but, hiding the negatives should not be considered as unethical. 🙂

well, let me sum it up and correct me if I am wrong. Amazon does not pay dividends as it invests back the profits for innovation & growth. It’s a growing stock. One should invest in it only if it is for a long time plan. As per data, if someone has invested $1000 at its IPO, it is now valued at over $239,000. On the other hand, The quarterly dividend payout ratio of 3M was 50.2%, whereas the annual was 47% (fisca year 2014). Normally, 3M maintains similar payout ratio annually though the quarterly ratio varies significantly. Thus, with such a high dividend payout ratio, it can be said that 3M is a very matured & stable company. One should invest in it if one is very interested in having short term secured benefits. Moreover, given the technology innovations of 3M, it is expected to continue growing in near future as well. :yahoo:

ok..As an example, say- Amazon does not pay any dividend..on the other hand, 3M is having a dividend payout ratio of 50.2 %…Is it justifiable to consider the ratio of 50.2% to be high? If yes, does it mean that the company don’t have a growth potential in near future? Again, Amazon is not paying any dividend, so is it justifiable to buy its shares?

      Hi Tulika,

Start early. If you are giving it for the first time, start soon as you need some time to analyse where you stand. As Eeti said, 6-8 months are sufficient enough to crack every MBA exam out there. But, do rememer, by preparation, I strictly mean, dedicatedly and smartly. For any other concern, do get back to us..:)

As my friend there stated that ethical values are integral to each and every situation out there. Keeping mum on the issue it absolutely unethical. So, there is no point hiding the fact. Even, if he hides it temporarily thinking that he may come out in the open after the cup win, its not very justifiable as involvement of the rapist player in the team puts it in bad light and the team stands disqualified. We have seen examples from the past where a player gets disqualified and the medal s taken back after an unethical activity conducted before the matches comes to light.

Having said that, taking strict actions against his own team player wo has comitted a crime will only put the team of Tungan in a better situation.

As far as winning is concerned, noone can guarantee that even the presence of star player will result in a win. Moreover, history proves that weak teams do stand a chance to win against their stronger opponents especially in team games. Its just that, the better team on the day wins.

As Shreeja said, every good thing accompanies some negatives. But, we should consider and concentrate on the larger positives. FB gives us an opportunity, like never before, to connect with the world and to network. What we should take from the foreign culture is absolutely our own choice given the fact that we are matured adults. Is this fair to state that FB, which is less than a decade old can really destroy our culture which is the result of thousands of years. If yes, probably our culture was never solid enough. Whether to accept the western culture or not or as we mostly do, modify the western culture as per our requirement as then follow it, it is absolutely upto us. Having said that, we must look into how fb can actually add up to the Indian culture.
