Please suggest some preparation material to kick-start CAT preparation. Also please advise on the daily hours to be spent on it.

Two resources that I would suggest are TIME and Quant / DI by Arun Sharma. In addition to this online prep from IdeasMakeMarket will be sufficient to crack the exam.
