The placements process at FMS, Delhi were conducted in two phases with the first one (Lateral Placements) being for students having prior work experience of more than 18 months and the second phase (Final Placements) for students with lesser/no work experience. To ensure a smooth and transparent process for both the recruiters and the students two important measures were put in place.
Unique Feature
First, the students undertook a “Company Slotting” exercise to decide on the order in which the companies should visit the campus for recruitment. Second, a scheduling algorithm was devised keeping in mind preferences of both the students and the recruiters and the same was used for the first time during the Final Placement process.
Roles & Recruiters
Companies from a host of different sectors and domain recruited students for a variety of functions and roles. A total of 217 students received 236 offers primarily across the following sectors: Consulting & General Management, Sales and Marketing, BFSI, E-Commerce and IT & Operations.
Consulting/General Management
Accenture Strategy and Deloitte USI (S&O) made the highest number of offers – 11 and 10 respectively. The Boston Consulting Group hired 3 students testifying the campus’ calibre in this domain. Other recruiters in this domain were Capgemini, Cognizant Business Consulting, EY, Infosys Management Consulting, KPMG, etc. Firms which hired students in General Management roles include Cipla, Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance Industries Limited, Tata Administrative Services, Tata Communications, Welspun, etc.
Sales & Marketing
The FMCG sector saw some of the most prestigious firms in the country making offers at FMS Delhi . Some of these firms include Asian Paints, Coca-Cola, Henkel, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, PepsiCo, RB, etc. A host of consumer durables firms such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, etc. hired for a variety of roles.
Finance
More than 40 offers were received from companies from the BFSI space. Avendus Capital hired for its prestigious Investment Banking and Wealth Management divisions. Students of 2015 batch would be joining giants such as Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, etc. All major Indian banks – Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, SBI, Yes Bank, etc. recruited from FMS Delhi. SBI Capital Markets and Hannover Re also extended offers to the students. Corporate Finance roles were offered by Nestle and Vodafone among others.
E-Commerce & IT services/Operations
FMS Delhi saw e-Commerce giants like Amazon, Info Edge, MakeMyTrip, etc. recruiting students in good numbers. First time recruiters in this sector were CarTrade, Housing, Magicbricks, PayTM, Shopclues, Snapdeal, etc. A variety of roles in product management, operations, account management, online marketing, etc. were offered. Major participants in the technology segment were Ericsson, Google, HCL, Samsung and Wipro. HCL hired 8 students for its prestigious Global Engagement Manager profile.
Key Highlights
