Have you ever seen the inside of an Anthill? It has a systematic infrastructure with clearly defined pathways and rooms where food is stored. Troy believes that any creative endeavor is like building an anthill. The first time that you try something, there are no pathways yet, so it will be very difficult for you. It’s like digging through a pile of dirt. But eventually with practice and repetition you can build out the infrastructure of your brain to allow yourself to create freely.

Troy Erstling is the founder of BrainGain, an employment marketplace that connects recent graduates from the US with job opportunities at start-ups in Bangalore. He graduated from the University of Arizona in May of 2011 with a degree in Inter-Disciplinary studies, concentrating on business, sociology, and international studies.
